CPL has reached the halfway mark and teams are almost settled with their combinations. They started eyeing for qualifiers and every game from here will be crucial for all the teams to get into qualifiers. This season has been a very interesting season for the Caribbean premier league as it marks the first t20 based franchise league to be played after COVID-19 pandemic. All the matches are held in only two grounds at Trinidad and games are played in empty stands to avoid any spreading. Players are in bio bubble and are maintaining proper safety protocols in place. Today’s match will be played at queen’s park oval at Trinidad and is scheduled at 7.30 pm (IST). So every team will be expected to play up to their potential and they need to qualify for play-offs. As per the pitch report, it is not a favourable pitch to score freely so we can expect a low scoring encounter today.
St Lucia Zouks:
Zouks is having a decent CPL so far as they have won three out five games so far in the tournament. They will be eyeing back to winning ways as they have lost their last match against Tribango knight riders yesterday. They are on a course for qualifiers but they need to click as a unit to achieve that feat. Their spin bowling all-rounders Raston Chase and Mohammed Nabi are doing exceptionally well so far in the tournament and their major concern will be on their top order. Andre Fletcher, Rakheem Cornwall and Leniko Boucher are yet to click and no wonder if they peak at this juncture then St Lucia Zouks will be unstoppable. As far their bowling is concerned it is quite disappointing to see Kesrick Williams is not able to contribute with ball. But young guns like Chemar holder and foreign recruits like Scott Kuggeleijn has done their job well. So if their misfiring stars like and there will be no stopping for St Lucia Zouks.
Expected playing XI:
Kimani Melius, Andre Fletcher, Mark Deyal, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Darren Sammy (C), Scott Kuggeleijn, Saad bin Zafar, Chemar Holder, Roston Chase and Kesrick Williams.
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots:
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, on the other hand, has got a disappointing tournament so far. They are also facing the same problem faced by opponents St Lucia Zouks as their star players failing to click. They have got a most fearsome batting line-up with the likes of Evin Lewis and Chris Lynn but both failed miserably so far in the tournament. Denesh Ramdin has done his job in few games and likes of Ben Dunk, Nick Kelly are getting starts but failed to convert as big scores costing them badly Cricket Betting Tips. As far as their bowling is concerned West Indies premier bowler Sheldon Cotterell is leaking runs and failed to make an impact in the squad. It’s time for Alzarri Joseph to stick to the rhythm and anchor their bowling attack. Young brigade Josua de silva has shown so much promise during England series but not clicking in home soil is also a worrying sign for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
Expected playing XI:
Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk, Evin Lewis, Nick Kelly, Sohail Tanvir, Ish Sodhi, Sheldon Cottrell, Denesh Ramdin, Rayad Emrit, Imran Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Joshua de Silva, Dominic Drakes, Colin Archibald, Jon Russ Jaggesar, Jahmar Hamilton
Both the teams look eventually good on paper but considering the current form, St Lucia Zouks are expected to merge as victorious.
